Northeastern Ontario is the start of real wilderness
The southern part of this region has exposed Canadian Shield with pockets of farm land. The northern part of this region is quite different and is all wilderness. The larger cities have developed some attractions for tourists. The main activities are fishing, hunting, boating, snowmobiling and cross country skiing. When southern regions have a warm winter they will travel to this region for winter activities.
Summers can get hot in the southern part of the region , winters are cold, late spring and early fall have a nice moderate climate. The northern part of this region can get real cold in the winter and summers might get hot.
