Fishing and Fishing Maps
If you have been looking around our site you might have noticed that we have hiked, camped, skied, some snowmobile, and fished most of the Grey-Bruce Area. This page will give you the facts about fishing in our area. We tell it like it is, the good and the bad.

The large waters are generally good. Notice that I did not say great. It depends on the time of year, location and your expertise to have a great day fishing. We will try to inform you on where the catch of the day is. It will take us a couple of years to put together a full information package of the area.

Our inland water does not suffer from acid rain like other northern areas because our soil has more base to absorb the acid. You will catch fish in our lakes and rivers but they are generally smaller especially pike or pickerel. Common bass sizes are 1 to 2 lb but can get up to 7lb. There are lots of spots to catch speckled or brown trout but the people who catch them will not even tell their friends the good spots. We do know that you must go to some of the most remote bug infested areas of Grey and Bruce to find them. If you read, the government information on fishing you would think that there is a lot of great fishing in the area. The truth is that some areas are great others are good and some are poor. We know how important it is to get good information on each lake and river so we will try to get as much detailed information from the people who fish these waters.

Fishing
(Grey-Bruce)

Here is an example:
Lake Charles
This is possibly the best bass lake we have ever fished.

Good points
-Small Lake
-Boat launch for a small boat
-Conservation land with out house and barbeque.
-Lots of small bass that will jump out of the water at you're worm.
-Bass up-to 4 lbs.
-Fee: send donation to -
Grey Sauble Conservation Authority
RR#4
Owen Sound, Ontario
N4K 5N6

Bad Points
-Fish are not good to eat because the water gets to warm which causes the fish to get wormy.
-Harmless black water snakes that think they own the lake shoreline.
-No Camping

Fish Location
East or West side depending on wind direction.

Comments
If you want to introduce young children to a great fishing experience then this is the place for you. All you need is a canoe, poles, hooks and worms to have a great experience. Personally I would practice catch and release.
