Boulder Beaches Owen Sound to Tobermory You can see in the picture below of a typical boulder beach. From Owen Sound to Tobermory you will find sand or boulder beaches on the Georgian Bay side of Grey and Bruce Counties. There are no boulder beaches on the Lake Huron side. If you go to Cyperus Lake at Tobermory and take the trail to the water, you find a large sign explaining how this was formed. This information will eventually be entered here. I have never seen anything else like it in Canada. This is one reason that the area is a Canadian Park. We often drive with our four boys from Owen Sound to Big Bay in August. We take our fishing poles to see if we can get a Lake Trout or Rainbow. We did get Lake Trout in that area when we had our boat. The boys love to skip the smaller flat boulders. You would think that pile would be getting smaller. We finish the day by letting the kid's dive of the peer into the clean crystal clear water of Georgian Bay. Back to Photos Main Page
